Welcome to SkillsCity Academy. We provide professional training courses, workshops, and educational services both online and at our physical premises in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our Services, including our website ([Your Website Address]), learning management system (LMS), course materials, and facilities. By registering for a course, accessing our website, or using any of our Services, you (“User,” “Student,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use our Services.
- Definitions
- “Course”: Any training program, workshop, or educational session offered by the Institute.
- “Course Materials”: All content provided by the Institute, including but not limited to lectures, videos, presentations, notes, text, graphics, software, and other materials.
- “Services”: All offerings by the Institute, including Courses, Course Materials, certification, and use of our facilities and online platforms.
- “Website”: The official website of the Institute, located at skillscityacademy.com.
- Eligibility and Account Registration
- Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age to register for our courses. If you are under 18, you may only use our Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Account Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- Account Security: You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
- Course Enrollment, Fees, and Payment
- Course Fees: All Course fees are listed on our Website or in the official course brochure. Fees are quoted in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) and are subject to change. The fee at the time of your registration will be the fee you are charged.
- Taxes: All fees are exclusive of any applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) or other government taxes as per the laws of Bangladesh, which will be added to your invoice where applicable.
- Payment: Full payment of Course fees is required before the commencement of the Course, unless an installment plan has been explicitly offered and agreed upon in writing. We accept payments via bank transfer, mobile financial services (e.g., bKash, Nagad), and card payments.
- Confirmation: Your enrollment is only confirmed upon our receipt of the full payment or the first installment, and our subsequent confirmation to you via email or other official communication.
- Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation by the Institute: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a Course due to unforeseen circumstances, such as insufficient enrollment or instructor unavailability. In such cases, you will be offered a choice of:
- A full refund of the fee paid.
- Transfer to a future session of the same Course.
- Cancellation by the User (Withdrawal):
- If you cancel your enrollment at least 15 (fifteen) calendar days before the scheduled Course start date, you will receive a 90% refund of the total course fee.
- If you cancel between 7 (seven) and 14 (fourteen) calendar days before the scheduled Course start date, you will receive a 50% refund.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 (seven) calendar days before the Course start date or after the Course has commenced.
- All refund requests must be submitted in writing to skillscity.ac@gmail.com.
- Code of Conduct All students are expected to maintain a professional and respectful learning environment. The following actions are strictly prohibited:
- Plagiarism, cheating, or any form of academic dishonesty.
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive language towards instructors, staff, or fellow students.
- Disruption of classes, whether online or in-person.
- Sharing your account login credentials with any third party.
- Recording, reproducing, or distributing Course Materials without prior written consent from the Institute.
- Using the Institute’s premises, equipment, or online platforms for any illegal activity.
Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate suspension or termination of your access to our Services without a refund.
6. Intellectual Property All Course Materials, including the curriculum, lecture content, and the Institute’s brand and logo, are the exclusive intellectual property of SkillsCity Academy or its licensors. Upon enrollment, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Course Materials for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You may not copy, reproduce, sell, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from our Course Materials without our express written permission.
- Certification
- A certificate of completion or achievement may be awarded upon successfully meeting all Course requirements, which may include attendance, participation, project submission, and passing examinations, as specified in the course outline.
- The issuance of a certificate is at the sole discretion of the Institute.
- A certificate from SkillsCity Academy represents the successful completion of our training program but does not constitute a professional license or guarantee employment.
- Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
- Our Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
- While we strive to provide high-quality training, we make no guarantees regarding specific career outcomes, job placement, or skill mastery. Your success depends on your own effort, commitment, and background.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Institute’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services is limited to the amount of the Course fees you paid to us. The Institute will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Privacy Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy, which is available on our Website. By using our Services, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
- Amendments to Terms We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Terms on our Website or by sending you an email. Your continued use of our Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
- Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
